November 1 is significant for many reasons, the most important arguably being it was the first time National Geographic magazine displayed uncovered boobies. It’s also "World Vegan Day," which I had no idea even existed.
More importantly though, it’s also the birthday of Hello Kitty! And despite what her looks might lead you to believe, this year, she’s reaching well into her mid-thirties.
While I’m sure there’s going to be some sort of event in Japan to celebrate the occasion, Hello Kitty’s 35th birthday is also being celebrated in the virtual world, in Hello Kitty Online. Publisher Oriented Games sent out a press release earlier today, announcing that they’ve officially launched the game in Malaysia and Singapore, which — according to their research and trial runs — is where a lot of her fans come from.
On November 1, they’ll be updating the game with new events and quests to commemorate the day the cat was conceived. Hello Kitty Online runs on a free-to-play, micro-transaction model, so if anyone’s interested in checking it out…
