From Software’s most recent teaser site wasn’t for another slew of PSP ports. The developer of Otogi revealed 3D Dot Game Heroes, an action RPG with dot graphics.
The story of the game, as revealed by Famitsu scans, explains the world was once a stereotypical 2D RPG town (see a picture of the 2D world) with a hero that saved the world from an demon overlord. After defeating the demon lord the kingdom became a tourist hot spot and all was well.
When visitors stopped showing up the king decreed to change the world into 3D. Everything was fine until something that From Software doesn’t want to reveal yet threatened the world. Fortunately, a wandering hero (read: you) came to the 3D town to save the world.
3D Dot Game Heroes is an action RPG, but details about the combat system have not been revealed at this time. Masanori Takeuchi known for his work on Otogi is producing 3D Dot Game Heroes, which is coming out on the PlayStation 3 in Japan this November.
