Astro Boy: The Video Game Is A PSP Exclusive In Japan

I saw another build of Astro Boy: The Video Game with Cameron Rains, the Producer at High Voltage Software. Astro Boy is being developed for the Wii first with their Quantum3 engine, the same foundation for The Conduit, but Japan only gets the PSP version.

Astro Boy: The Video Game will ship on three platforms in North America, the PSP, Wii, and a DS adaptation not handled by High Voltage.

Rains confirmed that only the PSP version is heading to Japan, but didn’t offer a reason why. The decision is baffling considering Astro Boy’s legacy in Japan. D3 Publisher is handling the game in both territories too so it isn’t a matter of a publisher swap.

I can’t think of a good explanation why Japan can’t have butt machine guns on the Wii, but maybe you can. Post them in the comments!
