Earlier this month, we reported the PlayStation 2 game Shadow of Destiny was getting a PSP port in Japan. Now, it’s confirmed for North America.
The ESRB just re-rated Shadow of Destiny as a PSP game with the following spoiler filled summary for its “T” rating.
This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Eike, a man who is “destined to die” and who must travel through time to alter his fate. Players can explore the fictional German town of Lebensbaum, solve puzzles, and interact with different characters to uncover the cause of the central character’s demise. Eike’s death is depicted in a variety of ways: he is stabbed, pushed off a roof, poisoned, and shot. In one scene, he is run over by a car; both the driver and the passenger appear to be drunk (i.e., they talk with slurred speech and make comments like, “I think he’s like a drunk or something”; “Hey wait! Aren’t you like the one who is smashed, dude?”). During the course of the game, a blood-like fluid gushes out of an injured creature and settles on the ground.
Thanks for spoiling the game and Konami’s announcement, ESRB! Shadow of Destiny is slated October 1st in Japan. A North American release can’t be too far behind since Konami already localized the game for the PlayStation 2.
