Build Dams To Save A Town From Monsters

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

Acquire, the team behind Yuusha no Kuse Ni Namaikida and Tenchu 4, is working on their first Nintendo DS game. Like Yuusha, Dungeons & Dam is a simulation game, but you’re not playing as a devil king. In Dungeons & Dam you help Shion build barricades to keep monsters out of the town at night. Water appears to play a key role as a natural defense you can alter by placing dams. During the day you spend time preparing for the night phase by mining and looking for party members.

The theme of Dungeons & Dam may not be as novel as Yuusha no Kuse Ni Namaikida, but Acquire has a knack for making creative simulation games. The final version is scheduled to come out in Japan in spring 2009 with no US publisher announced at the moment. The list of unlicensed Acquire published games is starting to build up with Way of the Samurai 3, Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono, and now Dungeons & Dam. Doesn’t Atlus have a previous relationship with Acquire via Samurai Western? Hmm….
