Eastasiasoft plans to fill the void of shooters on the PlayStation Network with a port of Söldner-X in October. The horizontal shooter was released for PCs last year and if you haven’t heard about it here’s a trailer. The PlayStation 3 version has a significant list of improvements such as new enemies, a bonus boss battle, seven music tracks for berserker mode, optional Sixaxis support (?), and trophies. To the chagrin of hardcore shooter enthusiasts the score system and the gameplay have been rebalanced with an easier default difficulty. No price has been announced for the downloadable PSN release, but a moderator on the Söldner-X boards says, “the price of the PSN release will be much lower than the PC version.” The PC version bundled with a soundtrack was first sold for $50.
