Late last week I discovered Sega trademarked Project Beauty in Japan. I secretly wished this was a codename for another PlatinumGames project. It isn’t and I still can’t quite believe what Project Beauty probably is. Project Beauty is a Nintendo DS game and the Japanese title says cosmetics maker Shiseido is involved with the software. The tentative name, translated into English, is Shiseido Beauty Solution Supervised Exploration Center Project Beauty. It looks like there is some kind of accessory that comes with Project Beauty since one version comes with something called a DS Scan.
Play-Asia spoiled the surprise on this too, so this isn’t 100% confirmed, but it’s pretty likely Project Beauty is beauty software from Shiseido and Sega. Strange, but this isn't the strangest thing Sega published this year.
Update: This is now official and the DS Scan bundle is really just a package with the GBA cartridge slot camera Nintendo bundled with Adult Face Training last summer. Sega will release Project Beauty on November 27 in Japan.
