Copies of Daigasso! Band Brothers DX are shipping worldwide and should be in the hands of importers soon. After you peel the cellophane and before you download your first song over Nintendo Wi-Fi a note in Japanese informs users the download is permanent. You cannot delete a song once it’s on your game. One cartridge holds 100, a sizable number for a Nintendo DS cartridge.
However, Nintendo plans to release more than 100 songs internally and users can upload user created content. Daigasso! Band Brothers DX initially looked like the ultimate music game with an unlimited song list. In reality Daigasso! Band Brothers DX is limited since you can’t delete anything, an odd development choice that may be rooted in licensing issues. Even user created content needs to be registered with the appropriate JASRAC code.
Importers choose your downloads wisely.
