Sony announced Afrika back in 2006, before the PlayStation 3 appeared in Japan. Aside from a few promotional videos with lions walking around we don’t know much about what you actually do in Afrika. Will it be a motion controlled jungle safari? Lion taming RPG? (Actually, that could be neat…) We don’t even know if Afrika will be the project’s final name since it is a “working title”.
While Rhino Studios and Sony have not said anything concrete about it Play-Asia seems to think Afrika will come out on August 28. Retail release dates are never considered concrete information, but Play-Asia managed to "announce" Initial D: Special Stage, another PlayStation 3 game, a few days before it was known to the rest of the world.
This is probably just wishful thinking because Sony hasn’t given any indicators Afrika is on any release calendar. The official Japanese placeholder page hasn’t even been updated since last year, which is a bad sign for the proposed August release date.
