Mario Kart Wii supports four kinds of control schemes: tilt control with the remote, nunchuck/remote combination, Classic Controller and the Gamecube controller for purists. Before you dust off a Wavebird, Nintendo’s updated Mario Kart Wii fact sheet explains “some maneuvers cannot be performed.” The Classic Controller has the same warning. Nintendo has yet to disclose what maneuvers you have to give up for a classic Mario Kart feel, but the lost commands probably won’t be anything game breaking.
Actually, this isn’t the first time where players have to choose between traditional controls and a complete command list with motion control. In Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 2 you need the remote to activate chakra restoring seals.
Let the battle between classic Gamecube controls versus motion sensitive Wii Wheel turning begin.
