Lik-Sang got in hot water for doing “grey market trade” by selling PSPs early to Europe. While it is arguable if what Lik-Sang did was wrong, a Judge waving the Union Jack says it is. The ruling took place on October 9 at the high court in London. Pascal Clarysse the marketing manager for Lik-Sang had this to say, “Fighting multiple lawsuits in different countries at the same time and paying high premiums to expensive lawyers is an overwhelming situation for a small company like Lik Sang. Launching separate court actions with separate claims and different judges is completely unnecessary, except for the fact that it helps reaching one single target: outspend Lik-Sang to death. Pay beyond.”
This court order comes at a critical time, right when the Playstation 3 is going to be released. Are retailers going to be brave (foolish?) enough to defy Sony and sell PS3s to Europe early? Sony already preempted the issue saying that they will not allow importers to bring the Playstation 3 to Europe early.
Thanks for the tip about the PS3s the_importer!
