North America has just a few months until they get to experience the “lost” Final Fantasy with all new 3D graphics. Like the pre-Playstation days, Final Fantasy III DS has character design by Yoshitaka Amano and classic turn based combat. The story of Final Fantasy III begins with four destined light warriors stumbling into a cave… Unlike the nameless heroes and heroines of the NES game, the DS version has characters with personalities and their own names.
Here are some of the characters you will meet in your journey:
Princess Sara – The young and sometimes childish princess of Sasoon escaped Jinn’s curse because of her mythril ring. In Final Fantasy III DS she has placed trust into Ignus, one of the light warriors.
Desch – The light warriors meet Desch on a mountain top. Although he has no memory about his past, Desch feels drawn to the light warriors so he joins the group. Who is Desch and what is his connection to the light warriors?
Refia – She was raised by a blacksmith from Kazus, a town cursed by Jinn. As one of the chosen light warriors Refia is a playable character who travels with Lunneth and the rest of the part.
Arc – Like Refia, Arc is in your active party. He is a quiet boy from Topapa who has a hard time taking action on his own. While he might be meek all of his time spent reading books has made Arc knowledgeable.
New to Final Fantasy III DS is wifi connectivity, but no Square-Enix has not revealed further details about how it is going to be used.
Some new magazine scans show off jobs like the Geomancer, Black Mage and Ranger.
