Nintendo revealed two more characters in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 cast. While they aren’t party members, they’ll serve important roles in the story. One is the Keves Commander Ethel. She’s the one who dubs Noah and his allies monsters in the game’s introduction. The other is Guernica Vandham. While not as much is known about him, he’s the one who directs the group to a location that sounds like one from past Xenoblade Chronicles games.
Here’s the official tweet showing off the character art for Ethel and a few screenshots of her in-game. Her right eye glows red for some reason.
Ethel's unwavering conviction in her beliefs and ingenuity have won her the trust of those serving under her. But though Noah also hails from Keves, she attacks him and his group on sight, calling them monsters!#XenobladeChronicles3 pic.twitter.com/uljUUHIM3w

And this is the announcement revealing Guernica. While there are no individual Xenoblade Chronicles 3 screenshots showing him, the character’s warning is shared.

Most of the past characters discussed ahead of these Xenoblade Chronicles 3 folks involved playable party members. Nintendo went over Keves’ Noah and Agnus’ Mio group. For example, we learned their voice actors. And the company also showed off their Ouroboros units.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will come to the Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022.
