2.5 Honkai: Star Rail Updates Include Pets, Casual Mode Difficulty

HoYoVerse detailed a few of the additions coming in the 2.5 Honkai: Star Rail update, and two of the biggest features include a Casual Mode difficulty setting and the ability to be accompanied by a pet in the field. You can also “quick deploy” others successful teams for Apocalyptic Shadow, Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos, and Pure Fiction if you also own all four characters.

In the case of the new pets system in Honkai: Star Rail, one is confirmed initially. As part of the Luminary Wardance, people will get a Tuskpir that resembles a tapir. The announcement on HoYoLab notes players who earn the reward will be able to summon it to walk alongside them in the field via the Inventory menu.

As for the Honkai: Star Rail Casual Mode difficulty, this will come up as an option when you go into certain missions or fights. On the page that will show the name of the location you head to and enemies you’ll encounter, there will be a Mode Settings option in the upper righthand side of the screen next to the Rules you can view. Going into there will let you choose Casual Mode or stick with an existing option like Normal Mode. HoYoVerse specifically said some Companion Missions, Story Battles, Trailblaze Continuance, and Trailblaze Missions will allow a player to select Easy Mode.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 2.5 update arrives on September 10, 2024
