In two weeks we're going to revisit the 194X series by going back to the original game in the series. Backbone Entertainment, a company behind many arcade to Xbox 360 ports, gave 1942 a fresh coat of paint and a score from Metal Gear Solid composer Norihiko Hibino. The other modern feature in 1942: Joint Strike is online co-op play. I never have much luck playing shmups online so I’m content with the old school local co-op play with the new Joint Strike team up attacks. Xbox 360 owners get to play the game first on July 23. PS3 owners get it a day later on July 24. A price hasn’t been announced, but given Capcom’s history with downloadable games I expect this to cost $10.
