The IGN Summer of Gaming schedule has been revealed, and with it comes dates for when we can expect announcements about anticipated games. Most notably, we’ll see new trailers for two games that have been sometimes hidden in secrecy. For example, June 9, 2020 will be a big day. That’s when Atlus will finally show off 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim again with a new trailer, Arc Systems Works will announce a new Guilty Gear Strive fighter, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon will get new footage.
The 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim trailer is noted to be an exclusive IGN reveal from Sega and Atlus. This is the VanillaWare game that is part visual novel and part strategy game. While it appeared at E3 2017 and was confirmed back then for a Western release, details have been slim. It only came out in Japan in November 2019, and it had shipped 130,000 copies in the region as of the end of April 2020.
As for Guilty Gear: Strive, this will potentially technically mark the tenth confirmed character for the game. Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, Faust, Ky Kiske, May, Millia Rage, Potemkin, Sol Badguy, and Zato-1 have all been officially confirmed.
The Yakuza: Like a Dragon details will come in the form of a gameplay video and interview.
In addition to unannounced game reveals, a few other notable announcements have been confirmed for IGN Summer of Gaming. Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time’s gameplay will be shown off on June 5, 2020. On June 15, 2020, there will be a new Ninjala trailer and Scarlet Nexus gameplay footage shown.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is available on the PlayStation 4 in Japan and is headed westward as well. Guilty Gear: Strive will come to the PlayStation 4 in early 2021. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is available on the PlayStation 4 in Japan and will head to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in 2020.
