We recently got a first look at Lost Dimension, an upcoming game that will have you saving the world from destruction, which looks like it was inspired by Shin Megami Tensei IV. 4Gamer shares the latest on the game, with more details on the mysterious pillar and the terrorist that threatens the world.

In Lost Dimension, you’ll be playing as the protagonist, Sho Kasugai, a young man with a special ability that allows him to foresee events before they happen. He and other members with various abilities are part of a special group that was put together by the United Nations, called S.E.A.L.E.D., to stop an evil menace, known as “The End”.

After a mysterious giant pillar appeared out of nowhere in the middle of New York City, the group were sent to investigate it. However, it is said that as they advance their way up the pillar, one member will be “erased”.

One more thing—there will be a traitor amongst the group of S.E.A.L.E.D., and it will vary who exactly, as you play through the game, leaving room for a thrilling development, which will likely change according to choices you make.

The End is an international terrorist, who suddenly appears inside the Pillar, and is said to be the reason the world will be ending in 13 days. As previously mentioned, The End considers his fight against S.E.A.L.E.D. as a simple game. Furthermore, here’s what he had to say:

“If you want to save the world, then kill me. You can find me at the top floor of the pillar.

In order to climb this pillar, you’ll be required to sacrifice a ‘psychic’.

Now, kill each other, and come climb the pillar!”

It’ll be up to Sho Kasugai and his gift of “vision,” alongside telepathic Yoko Tachibana, and other members of S.E.A.L.E.D. to stop The End from destroying the world, but who might end up being the traitor in your group?

Lost Dimension will be released on August 7, 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
