A little on Capcom’s Wii project: Treasure Hunter Z

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

Capcom has been working on new game for the Wii that has nothing to do with Mega Man, Lost Planet or Resident Evil. Tentatively named Treasure Hunter Z is an all new franchise that is going to debut on the Wii. Renowned pirate Barbaros hid his treasure on an island and while no one has found his riches the legend has been passed to down from one pirate generation to the next. Zack, a young pirate and the star of the game, stumbles upon Barbaros’ skull and the cursed pirate makes a deal with the treasure seeker. If Zack helps remove the curse on Barbaros he will show where the key to the lost island is. Treasure Hunter Z uses the Wii remote in a number of ways like making it a crank to turn handles and through motions players can transform items. A few of the areas that Zack will be exploring on Barbaros’ island are a jungle, ice temple, and volcanic caves. While the setting sounds similar to One Piece, the gameplay sounds interesting. We’ll be covering Treasure Hunter Z more in the future for sure, until then see some concept art and screenshots past the break.
