One way or another, you will unlock The Bowl of Embers, at least its Normal version. Progressing the Main Scenario Quest will see you take to Ul’dah and its outlying regions to face off against the mighty Ifrit. You will know when you’re close when you accept the Main Scenario Quest, “Lord of the Inferno.”

Since it is a Main Scenario Quest of a fairly low level, there is no Item Level requirement. Instead, players will need the following to enter:

  • Be Level 20.
  • Accept the Main Scenario Quest “Lord of the Inferno.”

You can enter this Trial with Duty Support, which means you can take NPCs with you instead of players. However, there is one key thing you will want to keep in mind when entering The Bowl of Embers. Ifrit will spawn an Infernal Nail once it hits around 50% HP. Stop attacking Ifrit and attack the Infernal Nail because when Ifrit gets too low, he will wipe the party.

Other than that, the fight is relatively easy, and once you’ve done this FFXIV Trial, it will then be available to encounter in the Leveling and Trial Roulettes.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
