Where is the Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop Hidden Treasure in Super Mario RPG?

After speaking to the elderly Toad in the Item Shop basement in Super Mario RPG and equipping the Signal Ring, which is an accessory that alerts you when you’re in the vicinity of Hidden Treasure, you’ll get an alert that there’s actually a Hidden Treasure in the Item Shop basement. If you’re anything like me, you’ll have jumped all over the room in an attempt to try and locate the secret item to no avail.

To find the Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop Hidden Treasure, you need to hilariously jump on top of the elderly Toad and then wait until they walk forward toward the wall next to the stairs. Once they’re at the wall, jump up, and you’ll hit a secret chest.

Jump again to open the chest, and you’ll receive a Flower. This item automatically increases Mario’s Flower Points (FP) permanently by one.

Where do I find the Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop?

The Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop is just to the right of the Inn in the Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario RPG. It’s easy to recognize by the spinning Mushroom sign above the door.

Once inside, the stairs to the basement are in the upper right of the Item Shop. Go down the stairs to find the elderly Toad pacing back and forth.

Super Mario RPG is available now on the Nintendo Switch.
