A new Splatoon 2 sub-weapon has been announced. When the November 2018 update arrives, so will a new homing attack. The Splatoon 2 Torpedo is a sort of bomb that can be thrown, zero in on an enemy, then splatter them with ink. It was revealed
Here’s how the Splatoon 2 Torpedo sub-weapon works. If you have enough ink, you can toss it in the general direction of an opponent. It will then track one person and home in on them, first hitting them, then send off an additional four splashes around them.
The official Twitter account has a video of this attack in action.
A new sub weapon called the Torpedo is coming to #Splatoon2! When thrown, it changes shape and homes in on a nearby enemy, exploding on impact and splatting ink everywhere! Fortunately, Torpedoes thrown by opponents can be shot down with your own attack. pic.twitter.com/NTtzBkNUWG

As the post notes, this is an attack that can be countered. If someone sees a Torpedo coming, they could shoot it down with ink from their own weapon. It does not say how difficult it might be to destroy.
Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch. The next update will arrive next week and bring this Torpedo and the Ultra Stamp Special Weapon.
