Last December, Game Informer’s article on Mega Man 11 mysteriously showed off a costume that looked like Mega Man Starforce’s design, which caused stir among the fans over whether it meant costumes based on legacy Mega Man characters would be in the game. This mystery has now been solved with an official statement from the devs in the Rockman 11 Production Note. [Thanks, Rockman Corner!]
The costume turns out to have been a placeholder costume for Tundra Man’s special weapon, Tundra Storm. Mr. Ueda, the person in charge of 3D models, decided to create and play around with a placeholder model in the image of Starforce, which then happened to be photographed by Game Informer as they came to the office. The staff apologized for confusing fans, and blamed Mr. Ueda for the matter.
