Square Enix posted a new job listing to recruit 3DCG designers to work as a VFX designer for Final Fantasy VII Remake, but whatās different this time is that it is being described as an action game.
Those who fill the position will work as a VFX designer on Final Fantasy VII Remake. The position requires work on general effect data using Unreal Engine 4ās cascade partical editor (used for battles, fields, making and implementing event scene backgrounds, and such). The VFX designer will also work together with programmers to construct rules that will allow for mass-production of data.
The perks section for the job listing describes it as āa position that will carry the core of Final Fantasy VII Remake that is being remade as an action gameā and āa chance to challenge the world with a new Final Fantasy action.ā We’ve previously seen action elements forĀ Final Fantasy VII Remake, but this is actually the first time Square Enix describes it as one.
However, keep in mind that this doesn’t mean it won’t be an action RPG, as “action game” is often used as a general term in Japan.
Required skills are VFX experience, MAYA and Photoshop experience, and experience creating 3D game effects. The following skills arenāt required but are welcomed: experience on creating effects with Unreal Engine 4, experience on creating effects for CG movies, and After effects experience.
Square Enix is looking for someone with technical strengths that know what is needed to be done in order to improve VFX texture quality in this high-definition age.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is in development for PlayStation 4. In previous job listings by Square Enix, we got some info on the remakeās progress as well as a glimpse at a new image that appears to be the Air Buster boss fight.
