It has already been established that the upcoming Stardew Valley multiplayer update arriving in 2018 will not just add cooperative multiplayer to the game, but will also include new single player content. While we originally only had new screenshots suggesting the ability to go inside a boat and do some fishing through a hole inside of it while out on the sea, Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone has posted a general list of things to expect on Twitter.

One of the major additions is the ability to re-spec your profession. As you perform certain actions in Stardew Valley, you will get the ability to choose certain perks for different categories at levels five and ten. These are referred to as professions. When farming hits level five, you can choose between Rancher, which increases the value of animal products by 20%, or Tiller, which makes crops worth 10% more. Then at level 10 farming, Ranchers could choose Coopmaster to befriend coop animals and reduce incubation or Shepherd to befriend barn animals and reduce wool growing time. If someone picks Rancher, then Shepherd now, they are permanently locked into it in that save file. With the update, they will have the ability to switch Professions.

The Stardew Valley update has a number of other bonuses coming. There will be new NPC events and a winter town event added to the game. A new collection will be available and can be started on folks’ very first winter. More outdoor decorations, including ones that change depending on the season, and the ability to make signs that can display items on them are coming too.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will come to the PlayStation Vita in 2018. This new update with multiplayer and single player content will be released in 2018 on PCs first, then consoles.
