Industry-tracking firm NPD Group shared the latest on video game sales in the United States for the month of October 2017, where Nintendo’s Switch and Super NES Classic Edition topped the charts.

According to NPD, the Nintendo Switch system was the #1 video game hardware in October, followed by the Super NES Classic Edition at #2. Combined with the 3DS family of systems, Nintendo hardware accounted for two-thirds of all video game hardware sold in the United States for the second month in a row.

The United States video game industry saw a hardware sale figure of more than 1 million total units in October, making it the first time since 2011.

Moreover, Super Mario Odyssey was the top-selling video game of the month, even though it launched at the end of the month on October 27. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild charted at #10 and #11, respectively.

The Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017.
