The first portable version of Stardew Valley has a release date. We all knew the game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2017. Now, we know it will arrive on October 5, 2017. The farming simulation will be $14.99 on the console. As an interesting aside, October 5, 2017 is also the night people can see the Harvest Moon in the sky.
This comes about one month after the game was submitted for testing on September 1, 2017 and about one week after it was approved by Nintendo, for those wondering how long the process can take for an indie game to get on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Finn “Tiy” Brice, Chucklefish CEO and Designer, teased this announcement and launch earlier this morning via Twitter.
Stardew Valley is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The multiplayer beta test is beginning on PCs at the end of 2017 and will launch on that platform in 2018. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will be the first console iteration to receive the co-op update.
