Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, the sequel to the cult-classic 1994 2-D fighting game, has now received a release window. Saber Interactive has announced that the game will be releasing sometime this fall. In addition, there will be a chance for Switch owners to get the game for free if they buy NBA Playgrounds for the same console.
You can check out the most recent trailer for the game in the following video.
Those who buy NBA Playgrounds before the game’s online patch releases will get a free copy of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn. Here’s more on the offer from Saber Interactive’s CEO Matthew Karch:
“We had every intention of launching online play for NBA Playgrounds on Nintendo Switch within days of release, but, despite our best efforts, it didn’t play out that way. We sincerely apologize for the delay and want to let everyone know the fix will be coming very soon. But words are cheap, and games are not. So we’re giving everyone that bought NBA Playgrounds on Nintendo Switch before the online play patch hits a free copy of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn on Switch this fall to express our gratitude.”
Updates to NBA Playgrounds are already being released on other platforms, and these updates include the addition of 15 new players as well as the ability to play as Shaq with the different teams throughout his career. In addition, changes have been made to the game’s entire shooting system, and Challenge Mode and a new connection manage have been added as well.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will release this fall for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. NBA Playgrounds is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
