In the midst of all the excitement behind Dragon Quest XI’s recently announced release date in Japan, third-party video game peripherals-maker Hori revealed its DualShock 4 “Dragon Quest Slime Controller.”

As the name suggests, the wireless Dragon Quest Slime Controller is actually a controller in the shape of a Slime. Its dimensions are 145mm width x 145mm depth x 124mm height. It comes with everything else you’d expect from a DualShock 4 controller, such as the motion sensor, stereo headset jack, and built-on mono speaker.

On a somewhat related note, a similar controller was made for PS2 from Hori a while back for Dragon Quest VIII, and it was available in the standard blue as well as a metal color variant, so there’s a good chance we’ll get an alternate color for the PS4 version as well.

The Dragon Quest Slime Controller releases on July 29, the same day as the release of Dragon Quest XI in Japan. It’ll be available for 9,980 yen plus tax.
