Nippon Ichi’s upcoming PS Vita death game Exile Election might sound a lot like Danganronpa with its theme and maniacal machine mascot, but it actually has a big theme of “revenge” behind its story.
In Exile Election, you’ll start out with twelve characters stuck in a closed amusement park, where they encounter a mechanical doll named Alice who claims to the be administrator of the place. Alice then proposes a “death game” that will have all the characters go through an election process to decide on who lives and who dies.
While it does sound like a standard setting of a group of kids making an attempt to survive together only to get betrayed by some bad seeds, the protagonist Kaname Ichijou actually has the ability to see sounds as colors, and can even see lies in red. That said, he’s not there to help everyone out, but rather, he’s there to get revenge on the nine people that “exiled” his sister.
