Pokémon Sun & Moon’s global online event that challenged players to catch 100 million Pokémon within two weeks has come to an end, and players weren’t even close to hitting the mark.

The first global mission began on November 29 and tasked players from around the world to catch 100 million Pokémon, collectively, by simply registering their contributions by logging into the Game Sync function before today’s deadline.

Unfortunately for Pokémon masters from around the world, they’re either going to have to step it up a bit or just ask Game Freak and Nintendo to chill a bit, as they only managed to get 16,423,231 Pokémon out of the  100,000,000.

The prize for reaching the massive sum would have been 1,000 Festival Coins, but those who participated will still get the guaranteed consolation prize of 100 Festival Coins for participating, which has been doubled to 200.

Pokémon Sun & Moon are available on Nintendo 3DS.
