Accel World vs. Sword Art Online Gets New Info, Releases In Japan On March 16, 2017

Bandai Namco shared the latest on their upcoming Reki Kawahara crossover game, Accel World vs. Sword Art Online during a Dengeki live stream today. Here’s some new info we got from the event.

While the game is called Accel World vs. Sword Art Online, characters from both series will go up against each other, but they’ll also work together. The Sword Art Online characters specialize in aerial combat while the Accel World characters specialize in land combat. Other than Silver Crow, none of the Accel World characters are able to fly.

As previously detailed, the game is an action RPG that focuses on creating your dream Accel World x Sword Art Online party of three that you’ll switch between as part of the “GS Active Change Battle” system.

Bandai Namco won’t have a limited edition version, but they’re leaving it to Dengeki, who will provide updates on their own exclusive limited edition version for the game. It features the following:

 

  • Special box illustrated by abec and HIMA
  • Soundtrack CD
  • Special contents Blu-ray disc
  • CD&BD Special Case
  • Special “Dengeki Nerve Gear VS” book
  • Mini-clear poster
  • Acrylic SD character keychain
  • Product code for in-game items

 

More details on the limited edition version will be revealed soon.
