Now that Pokémon Sun and Moon have been released, a new rumor has appeared related to the games. Eurogamer is reporting that multiple sources suggest a port of the Nintendo 3DS game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. It’s alleged code name is Pokémon Stars. If true, it would be the first traditional Pokémon game to come to a console.

In addition, Eurogamer claims that an HD model for a Pikipek shown in the February 26, 2016 Pokémon Sun and Moon launch trailer is one taken from the Nintendo Switch version of the game. You can see it at the 1:48 second mark in the video below.

This rumored port of Pokémon Sun and Moon was developed alongside the Nintendo 3DS versions. Game Freak did supposedly take time off of the console version to finish up on the handheld one. The console iteration will supposedly be similar to the original, with high resolution assets and Pokémon Bank compatibility.

Pokémon Sun and Moon is now on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan and North America. It will arrive in Europe on November 23, 2016. The Nintendo Switch version could be released in 2017.
