Nintendo will be going retro in honor of the launch of its NES Classic Edition. To celebrate the plug-and-play system’s launch, the company will host a launch party at the Nintendo NY Store, will share retro tips on its social media accounts, and bring back the Nintendo Power Line for people who want to call in to receive game hints.
The NES Classic Edition celebrations begin on November 10, 2016. New York’s Nintendo Store will host a launch event. The first 250 people will be able to attend an 80’s themed event with a costume contest, playable NES games, and fake game show. At midnight, NES Classic Edition systems will be sold. The social media accounts will have a remember #NESterday campaign where people can share NES memories and participate in Twitter contests.
On November 11, 2016, the Nintendo Power Line reopens. People will be able to call 1-425-885-7529 to hear pre-recorded hints, tips, and tricks for the NES Classic Edition’s 30 games and hear stories from Nintendo Game Play Counselors. The Power Line will be open from 6am to 7pm PT/9am to 10pm ET on November 11-13, 2016.
The NES Classic Edition will be available in North America and Europe on November 11, 2016.
