Nintendo’s latest Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past video goes over the ways players can find an advantage in battle. Monsters in the series have weaknesses, as is common in such games, and it shows how exploiting them in a strategic way by picking certain attacks and equipment can speed up fights.

One of the Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past video’s best examples involves a Metal Slime fight. This recurring enemy has incredibly high defenses, as it is immune to magic and takes only a few points of damage from physical attacks. The video explains that critical hits and continual hits are the only way to take a Metal Slime down. The rewards make such an encounter worth it, as beating one provides each character 2,000 experience points and gives the player 130 gold.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will come to the Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe on September 16, 2016.
