VisualArts and Key had a booth at Anime Central 2016, where an English localization of an established Key game was announced. During a press interview session, Takahiro Baba, the CEO of VisualArts, confirmed Rewrite+ would be released outside of Japan. In addition, flyers at the developer and publisherā€™s booth showed Rewrite+ as part of the English software lineup, alongside titles like Clannad, Planetarian, Tomoyo After: Itā€™s a Wonderful Life, Little Busters! Perfect Edition, and Harmonia.

During a press interview, AniTAY asked about a Rewrite release, now that itā€™s being turned into an anime series. Baba replied, ā€œYes. There are plans for an English release. With the [anime release] of Rewrite, there will be a new story arc added and those will be incorporated into a new version called Rewrite+ and, once that is made, that will be localized to English and may be made available on Steam.ā€

Rewrite+ stars Kotarou Tennouji, a young man who can use a Rewrite ability to make his body stronger and Aurora power to make weapons. These come at a cost, as using Rewrite too often will bring him closer to becoming a familiar. He joins his high schoolā€™s occult research society and ends up investigating their home town, Kazamatsuriā€™s, unsolved, otherworldly mysteries. In addition to dialogue choices made during the story, how often Kotarou uses Rewrite influences the path people follow.

VisualArts and Key have yet to announce a release window for Rewrite+. It will be available on Windows PCs.
