Koei Tecmo has released a staggering amount of information about Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita game introduces players to a new alchemist learning her craft, and the new footage and details show who’ll be along for the ride and how Sophie will make items to help people.
Sophie and Plachta will have a number of people they can rely on while the duo work to make Sophie a better alchemist and help Placta remember her past. Monika Ellmenreich and Oskar Behlmer are Sophie’s old friends who aid her in her endeavors. Julio Sebald Leidenschaft the knight, Fritz Weissberg, a former mercenary and puppeteer, and Corneria, another alchemist who can only duplicate items, are a few of the friendly faces to rely upon. People can also find Logy, from Atelier Escha & Logy, running the town blacksmith, Leon selling clothes, Harol Simens managing a clock shop, and Horst Basler and Tess take care of the cafe. Pamela Ibis even returns, working at the local church.
The second Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book video goes over the changes to alchemy in the game. There’s a new Synthesis system at play. When making a recipe, you have access to a panel, which can grow in size as you get better cauldrons for Sophie. Initially, it starts as a 4×4 panel, where each ingredient for the recipe takes up a certain number of tiles. With the right layouts and ingredients, you can make higher equality or better products.
Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book will come to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on June 7, 2016 in North America and June 10, 2016 in Europe. Physical and digital copies of the console version will be available, but the handheld version is a PlayStation Store exclusive.
