Free content is coming to the Minecraft: Wii U Edition. A Super Mario Mash-Up Pack will be released for both digital and physical copies of the game. When applied, people will be able to make Steve and Alex look like iconic characters from the Super Mario series with 40 skins, world and item textures can be replaced with ones inspired by the series, and 15 Super Mario songs from Super Mario 64 will be available. There will even be one pre-made world inspired by the series to explore.

The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack will be available in North America on May 17, 2016 and Europe on May 18, 2016. Everyone with a digital copy of the Nintendo Wii U game will receive it as a free update. The Minecraft: Wii U Edition is immediately available through the Nintendo eShop in North America and Europe. The physical copy of Minecraft: Wii U Edition will come to North America on June 17, 2016 and include the Super Mario Mash-Up on the disc. A physical copy release date has not yet been set for Europe.
