As part of Bandai Namco’s RPG Tour, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization producer, Yosuke Futami announced an autumn 2016 launch window for the latest entry in the Sword Art Online game series.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will available on PS4 and Vita and features a completely original story supervised by series creator, Reki Kawahara. A new VRMMO based off the remnants of an old Sword Art Online server has launched called Sword Art: Origin. Kirito of course, can’t resist and has to check out the new game. Once logged in, Kirito receives a message from a NPC called Premiere who then mysteriously disappears. Futami explained that “AI” is a central theme of the game.

Online functions have been expanded and now features eight players online, four human players each with their own AI partner. Character customisation is also returning in a form similar to Hollow Fragment where you customise Kirito, though this time it seems character name changes will be reflected in cutscenes. There are plans to have some sort of collaboration with God Eater and Tales but further information will be revealed at a later time.
