Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo To Release In Japan On February 3 For 3DS

The Pokémon Company just announced that Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo is releasing for Nintendo 3DS on February 3, 2016 in Japan. Here’s a look at its first trailer.

 

The video starts out with Detective Pikachu walking with his partner, and you can actually hear Pikachu speaking, saying: “It smells like a case,” “just where is he going?” “Let’s go check it out,” “are you okay?” and “let’s go, buddy!”

 

The video then explains “the adventure of the two will begin, and the protagonist is…” followed by Pikachu saying “I’m not just any detective, I’m the detective!” and we get a glimpse at some of its gameplay footage.

 

The idea of Detective Pikachu was revealed a couple years ago when The Pokémon Company showcased a game they were working on that involves solving mysteries and deductive reasoning while paired up with your senior detective Pikachu. You can read more about it here.

 

Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo will be available to as a digital title in Japan for 1,500 yen, starting February 3, 2016. From January 27 through February 29, it’ll be available for a special low price of 1,200 yen.
