Anyone who has played one of the Animal Crossing games and visited the museum know that the two owls running it, Blathers and Celeste, have a bit of a problem. They’ll both be asleep when you stop by during the day, due to them being nocturnal. People who use the Blathers and Celeste amiibo in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival will find the characters retain this trait in the board game.
As days of the month pass in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, the time of day varies. During daylight hours, both Blathers and Celeste will snooze. Their character models will be hunched over, and little sleep bubbles will appear. When it’s Blathers or Celeste’s turn, they’ll be shocked awake, then remain awake for the duration of their turn. If it’s night time that turn, both will be awake.
It’s a clever nod to the series’ continuity. They are the first two characters to display unique behavior in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival. Like all playable amiibo characters, the two have unique events that might happen when they land on a space.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is immediately available for the Nintendo Wii U, as are the Blathers and Celeste amiibo.
