Japanese indie studio G.rev Ltd is making its debut on Steam with Strania – The Stella Machina – on November 24th.

G.rev was founded by former Taito employees who worked on G-Darius and RayStorm. To initially generate revenue, the company did contract work for Treasure on Ikaruga as well as with Taito on Gradius V, before then developing its own original titles.

Strania – The Stella Machina – was originally released for Xbox 360 and Japanese arcades in 2011. “This vertically scrolling robot shoot ‘em up is an ode to the nostalgia of 1980s arcade games. Featuring a multi-faceted weapons system and dramatic visual effects, Strania was well-received for its stylistic retro graphics and modernized game system,” writes G.rev.

The Steam version of the game will come with the “Side Vower” DLC that lets you play on the side of the enemy to see their perspective on the story and events.
