When The Muv-Luv Team launched the Muv-Luv Kickstarter on September 24, the goal was to raise $250,000 to bring the visual novel trilogy that included Muv-Luv Extra, Muv-Luv Unlimited, and Muv-Luv Alternate to Windows PCs. Now, hours away from its November 3 end date, the project has passed the $1 million mark. As of righting, over 7,000 backers have raised over $1,145,000.
This milestone means that all five of the Muv-Luv Kickstarter Stretch Goals have been met. The first was a $400,000 mark, which would include optional English voices for some scenes, additional music, and special unlockable content added to the trilogy. The $500,000 stretch goal brought PlayStation Vita and Android ports to the table, with people who pledged over $150 getting one of the two ports for free. At $600,000, a digital, English, Official Muv-Luv Codex lore browser with information from Lunatic Dawn, Integral Works, and all new material was unlocked. The $720,000 goal were translations of Photon Melodies and Photon Flowers, the two spin-off games originally released on the PlayStation 3. Both are coming to Windows PCs. Finally, the $900,000 stretch goal was dubbed Operation Cherry Blossom and made a 400-500 page, physical edition of the Muv-Luv Alternative Codex with Integral Works and Lunatic Dawn content. The final stretch goal also added Sumika Figmaas to $150 and higher backer Collector’s Boxes.
The Windows PC version of Muv-Luv, which contains Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited, has a tentative March 2016 release window, while Muv-Luv Alternative could come out in August 2016. The Kickstarter ends November 3, with a few hours left to contribute and receive copies of the game and backer rewards.
