Back in June, Arc System Works acquired the rights to River City Ransom. Now, a translated version of River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~, a remake of a Nintendo game called Downtown Nekketsu Koushinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundoukai, is coming to the PlayStation 3. An English language website has opened and the game will appear on the PlayStation Store this week.

River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~ is sports game starring characters from the River City Ransom series. People can enjoy a single player story mode, in which the Reiho High School student council president, Todo, holds a sports challenge for all of the high schools. The students of Nekketsu High School, where Kunio and his friends go, prepare to face off against the other students. There is also a Free Battle mode for up to four offline players and Online Play with two types of matches. Players can go through Yumemicho Cross-Country, an Obstacle Relay, play Camphor Ball, or engage in a Battle Royale.

There is also a Create mode in River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~. People can make their own characters, determining their appearances, abilities, and lethal moves, then assign them to teams. Original courses can also be created. The custom characters and courses can be used in Free  Battle or Online Play.

PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~ on October 28. A price has yet to be announced, but an English website is now open.
