A full party in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes consists of three Links for cooperative adventures. This means three people are needed for the ideal experience. Nintendo has announced that of the two people joining you on your quest don’t both have to be your friends. One person can be someone you know, and the other can be a random player online at the same time.
If you begin a The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes game and find your party one person short, the title can add a third person to the party via random matchmaking. This way, a full compliment of characters will go into the dungeon together. The third party member won’t be a totally random stranger, however. Due to online region-locks, you’ll only be playing with people who also have a game from that same region.
Nintendo 3DS owners can play The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes on October 23. Nintendo has already begun emailing out Nintendo eShop demo codes for the game.
