Caustic Creative is a group that has been working on Revision, a fan mod for the original Deus Ex game. When applied to the title, it remasters the game’s environments and soundtrack. That doesn’t mean the game just looks and sounds prettier either. Caustic Creative actually put in the effort to overhaul the original environments while making its updates.
In honor of the group’s hard work and Deus Ex’s 15th anniversary, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal are considering this an official update for the game. This won’t effect Caustic Creative’s content in any way. It means that people who own Deus Ex on Steam will, as of today, be able to download the mod for free and apply it to their games to enhance the experience.
Square Enix has also confirmed that the Windows PC versions of both Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut will be part of Steam’s Stealth Sale from October 13-16, knocking 80% off of the two titles’ prices. Deus Ex will be $1.39, rather than $6.99, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut will be $3.99 from $19.99 later today.
