On Twitter today, a fan asked Koei Tecmo’s European branch if there were any plans to release Ciel no surge, the PlayStation Vita prequel to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita’s Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star, in other regions. The account’s official reply was, “Sorry to say that Ciel no surge would remain as Japan release only. Really sorry.”

Ciel no surge was originally released on the PlayStation Vita and is a life simulation game following an amnesiac named Ionasal. The player helps care for her, diving into her memories to repair them and scanning barcodes to create Sharl to aid in the effort. Visiting can boost the relationship with Ion, eventually offering a possibility of romance.

The game has seen three releases in Japan. The original was Ciel no surge in April 2012, which only offered the first episode. Ciel no surge Re:Incarnation, released in 2013, provided access to the first five episodes. The final form of the game is Ciel no Surge Offline, a 2014 release that contains all elements of the game.

Players interested in spending time with Ion in English can get Ar nosurge for the PlayStation 3 or Ar no surge Plus for the PlayStation Vita.
