Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 revealed New World and its first volume called “Maiden of Silver Tears” for smartphone. The RPG features characters designed by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, known for his character designs for Neon Genesis Evangelion and .hack//Sign.

In addition to having Sadamoto to help with character designs, the game is being developed by CyberConnect2, makers of the .hack series and more recently the Naruto games for Bandai Namco.

New World is part of the Project N.U., a new project that aims to bring back the setting and concept of the .hack series from scratch. New World is the first of more to come from Bandai Namco’s project.

The protagonist of New World lives in the town of “Maku Anu” that is currently being rebuilt. There, within the darkness, she meets a girl with silver eyes. The words this girl speaks unravels a secret of the world, and at the same time, she awakens the protagonist’s forbidden powers.

The world you hold. The world holds you. That is the “New World.” This world has another you.
