Digimon World: Next Order’s Protagonist Finds A New Found Love For Digimon

Bandai Namco previously shared a first look at some screenshots for Digimon World: Next Order, and 4Gamer’s latest update shows us another look with higher resolution screenshots and some artwork for the game.

The above is a look at Digimon World: Next Order protagonist Takuto and his Digimon pals Agumon and Gabumon. Takuto is a young man who spends his days studying for exams as a third-year high school student.

 

When he was in 5th grade, he was runner-up in a major national Digimon tournament, but even though he’s been occupied with studies at the moment, he doesn’t know what he’ll do with his life after he graduates.

 

His character is designed by Taiki, known for his work as the main character designer for Lord of Vermilion III Re: 2 and Lord of Vermilion III Twin Lance for arcades. He also shared a comment looking back at how he was in elementary school back when the first-generation Digimon toys were lined up in the department stores, and he would’ve never expected to be one to work on the series in the future.

 

He also adds that the protagonist Takuto was very passionate about Digimon when he was a child, but after a while he has forgotten about them, and Digimon World: Next Order will show how he meets them again in a new way, and thus the start of a new adventure.

Digimon World: Next Order will release in Japan in 2016 for PlayStation Vita.
