The “Hororo-Horuru” was recently revealed as one of Monster Hunter X’s new monsters, and considering how there aren’t too many bird-type monsters in the series, it’ll be interesting to see how this one fares against veteran Hunters. The official website shows us more from the new monster.
This new Bird Wyvern-type monster is one that prefers to be in the dark. Using its sharp claws located on its wings and feet, the Hororo-Horuru can strike down enemies from above.
They also have special scales inside their feather that can put you in an unconscious state upon inhaling, so you’ll want to watch out from his moves or you’ll be giving him a free hit or two.
If that wasn’t enough, the Hororo-Horuru can shoot giant laser-like super sonic sound wave attacks. These also come with a new type of status effect called the “Pinch” (or Danger) status. Not much is known about what this new status does, but it doesn’t sound like it’ll be fun to get hit by.
You can also check out our earlier report to get a glimpse of the Hororo-Horuru in action, along with a look at some other new monsters, and the Hunting Styles and Hunting Arts that are new to the game.
Monster Hunter X will release in Japan on November 28, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.
