Funimation Licenses Attack on Titan Live-Action Films For America

Funimation have licensed the live-action Attack on Titan films for release in America, the company announced this week. Under the terms of their licensing agreement, they will be able to give the film a theatrical release, as well as distribute it via home video, video-on-demand, and broadcasting.

 

Funimation will hold a world premier of the first Attack on Titan film on July 14th. This will take place at the the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, and actors from the film will be in attendance. Naturally, the film will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles.

 

Additionally, director Shinji Higuchi will appear at the San Diego Comic-Con for an autograph session on Sunday, 12th at 1:00 pm PST at Funimation’s booth (#4135).

 

“Funimation is honored to host the world premiere of Attack on Titan here in the United States with Toho,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and President of Funimation Entertainment. “Attack on Titan is truly a worldwide phenomenon and we are excited to bring the live action movie to theaters across the Americas later this fall.”
